Hello all! My name is Emily Bailey. I am 19 years old and in college studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine. But I am still very much in the model hobby. I have collected (so far) over 400 models ranging in various sizes. I do pedigree, photo and online show and I am currently working with a real horse registry to make a model registry just like theirs.
I would just like to get more into the hobby now that I am away from home. My parents didn't support the models other than buying me new ones. They suffered through photo showing and more saying I was crazy.

Welcome Emily! WOW! And I thouight my 30 or so models was a lot! LOL. I hear you on the 'support' part, my b/f likes my models, can live with the Live Shows, which I'm planning on a couple this summer...but was kind of acting wierd when I mentioned photo shows! lol At least my hobby is CHEAPER than his! hehe. Welcome aboard, and I can't wait to see your horses! Shannon

Hi Emily! Nice to have you here! I'm currently studying Equine Science, but I'm thinking about getting a genetics degree after that. Do you know where you want to go to vet school? My parents don't even go so far as buying me new ones. Their position was, if I'm going to spend money of frivolous things, it'll have to be my money and no one elses. I don't think they ever actually knew about photo shows -that would be a hard one to explain. Can I ask which registry you're working with? That sounds like a really interesting idea! Erin

I tried to double major at my university and do Western equine as well, but that didn't work out, because of the people. But I will go to vet school to wherever I am accepted since there are so few schools in the nation. I am looking at Ohio State, Purdue University and Colorado. But anywhere will work for me! ;D My b/f won't buy me any new models anymore because he says that he can't keep track of which ones i have and which I don't. But he does support me, but won't give me any money for it anymore because of how quick it goes! I am working with the International Spotted Horse Registry Association. They register all real horses regardless of breed, heritage, age...anything as long as the horse has pinto, appaloosa, and/or pintaloosa markings. So far, it is the only real horse rehistry that registers Pintaloosas and recognizes them as a breed. I got into it because I own a pintaloosa mare. (And Erin, I love the pintaloosa model )

LOL, that sounds like fun! I'm at Colorado State University right now and I was pre-vet, but decided I like the breeding/genetic side of the horse industry better, so I'm thinking about getting either an Equine Reproduction degree or an Animal Genetics degree after my BS. If you end up in CO, you'll have to let me know!

I'm also an Emily. But I go by way to many names, including the Girl with the Sticker on her head (My friend was running for Treasurer, stuck a campaign sticker on my head....)
And Welcome! Congrats on the horse degree, my parents are semi-evil and want me to get a career 'some where else' because apparently no one in the horse industry makes any money. Not true. Look at Cigar and John Henry! Millions of dollars! Anything TB means double the money, and increase more for the big races...
So, WELCOME! We don't bite.

Hi Emily! Nice to meet you! Are you related to any Bailey's near the Cincinnati area? I know a Bailey family that lives across the street from my parents in Owensville and they have a bunch of Qhs. Good to have you here
