Okay, so as I was doing registrations today, I noticed that there are ALOT of Grand Champions, Ertls, Schleichs and other various makes of models registered.
So, to sort of even the playing field a bit, I wanted to know how many people would be in favor of separating out show entries into "Toy" and "More Realistic" categories before having them judged.
"Toy Category" would be for the Schleichs, Ertls, Grand Champions, Blue Ribbons, etc. "Realistic Category" (for lack of a better term) would be for the Breyers, Peter Stones, Creatas, ARs, etc.
That way, it wouldn't be like comparing apples to oranges and would help promote nicer models, even if they didn't have a big price tag.
Please let me know what you all think and if you're in favor of the categories, tell me if you have better names for them!
Thanks! Erin

Hi Erin. I think it's a great idea. I've noticed that over on ABMHA and think it works nicely there.

I like that idea! It would give the different types a chance to win fairly. I don't know what to call them though......

Sounds good. So you can all continue to upload your pictures to the right albums, but when I judge I'll separate out the "Toy" or "Realistic" models and judge them separately. If any classes need to be combined, I'll first combine the OF and CM Toy classes into one class and the OF/CM Realistics into another class. If there still aren't enough, then I'd combine the two.

Good idea, Erin. Even though some of the newer Schleichs and some of the Ertls are just as "realistic" as many Breyers, some people seperate the shows as "Breyer," "Stone," and "other makes." Great idea
